Industrial mechanisms move heavier parts, run longer shifts and tolerate less unplanned downtime than hobby equipment. A servo on a turntable or a lift axis is therefore selected on thermal behavior, mounting and control interface as much as on peak torque. The models listed here span 70 to 650 kg-cm of stall torque. Where a figure depends on how the machine is built, we say so rather than guess.
Four criteria that matter before a high-torque servo is designed into equipment.
Peak load, not average load, sizes an actuator. Every model publishes stall torque at its rated voltage, from 7.4 V units up to 30 V bus models, so an axis can be checked against its hardest position instead of a nominal figure.
An axis that holds a load converts supply current into heat inside its housing. Case material, duty cycle and enclosure airflow all change the result, so a released design should be confirmed on a sample in the real mechanism.
High-torque units are only useful if the frame can carry and reach them. Weight and dimensions are published per model, and simplified dimension drawings are available for candidate models so the layout can be checked in CAD.
Machine controllers may expect a PWM signal, or a bus that carries several nodes and reports current and temperature. The control column marks which is which, so one wiring standard can be kept across the axes of a machine.
